Premier Healthcare Alliance Awards Three-Year Contract That Enables Members To Order Carestream’s DRX Family Of Imaging Systems

ROCHESTER, N.Y. ---- Members of the Premier Healthcare alliance, a major U.S. healthcare group purchasing organization, can order Carestream’s versatile family of DRX systems and Carestream Dental’s digital radiography systems according to terms of a new three-year contract that takes effect on Oct. 1, 2012. Premier members have been able to purchase Carestream’s DRX-1 system since it was added to Premier’s Technology Breakthroughs program in 2010.

The contract includes the following radiology imaging systems: DRX-Revolution Mobile X-ray System, CARESTREAM DRX-1 System, CARESTREAM DRX-Mobile Retrofit Kit, CARESTREAM DRX-Evolution DR Suite, and CARESTREAM DRX-Ascend System.

“Premier members can now realize the many benefits of our DRX family that thousands of healthcare providers around the world have embraced,” said Doug Spotts, General Manager, US&C Medical Sales, Carestream. “Our flexible DRX systems streamline imaging workflows and offer exceptional productivity in a wide range of environments, from critical care and general radiology exams to outpatient imaging centers.”

The DRX-Revolution sets new standards for bedside imaging with breakthrough capabilities that include superb image quality, rapid and comfortable patient positioning, safe and easy movement of the system from one area to another and higher productivity for technologists.

The DRX-Evolution is a modular DR room that can be configured to fit each user’s budget, space and workflow needs. This system offers special features that can help manage dose, optimize image quality and enhance patient care, especially for critically ill or injured patients.

To ensure maximum utilization, any DRX detector can be used with any DRX system. Detectors used with portable imaging systems for evening or early morning rounds can be used with X-ray systems in the ER or general radiology rooms during the day. This versatility allows a healthcare provider to achieve close to 24/7 usage of their detectors. All DRX systems use the same software and graphic user interface to help improve productivity and allow technologists to proficiently use multiple systems with minimal training.
