Health Language Selected To Enhance Clinical Documentation and Regulatory Compliance In Connexin Software's Office Practicum Solution

DENVER ---- Wolters Kluwer Health, a leading global provider of information for healthcare professionals and students, announced today that Connexin Software has selected its Health Language® applications to promote higher-quality clinical documentation and regulatory compliance in its suite of pediatric electronic health record (EHR) solutions.

The advanced Language Engine® will be utilized by Connexin Software to normalize data into standard terminologies, ensuring compliance with Meaningful Use and ICD-10. Connexin will also use Provider Friendly Terminology, comprehensive content sets and mapping services to promote enhanced problem and diagnosis search, delivering more accurate and actionable clinical documentation.

“After reviewing all of our options, we chose to partner with Wolters Kluwer Health because they best meet the current needs of our pediatric providers, and they are committed to maintaining that edge as the market evolves,” said Gregory H. Anderson, CIO of Connexin Software. “We look forward to navigating the uncertain waters of ICD-10 and Meaningful Use 2 with them at our side in the critical role of standardized, easy-to-use clinical language for electronic documentation and communication.”

Conceived and developed by practicing pediatricians, Office Practicum solutions by Connexin Software are designed to address the unique workflow needs of a pediatrician’s office. A full suite of solutions addresses everything from EHRs and practice management to exclusive vaccine prediction logic and bidirectional immunization registry capabilities.

“Healthcare providers look to their EHR vendors for guidance on important industry and government initiatives, such as Meaningful Use and the transition to ICD-10,” said Brian McDonald, Executive Vice President, Health Language, Wolters Kluwer Health, Clinical Solutions. “We are pleased that Health Language has been chosen by Connexin Software to provide its clients with tools to help ensure compliance, while also enhancing user experience, and patient care.”
